The inception of River Zen

One day, Alan, the manager of Portobello Restaurant, met Cherie while managing river cruiser boats. Cherie, a loyal fan of the restaurant, loved its relaxing vibe. During their chat about the cruisers, Alan mentioned how peaceful it is to glide along the Port River—perfect for meditation. This sparked a discussion with Gio, the restaurant owner, and the idea started to form.

Friends, family, and customers embraced the concept of enjoying meditation by the river, paired with great food and drinks from the restaurant.

About Cherie

Cherie is a certified instructor in Mindfulness (50hr) and a Vedic Meditation Teacher (1,800hr), having undergone extensive in residence training overseas. She is dedicated to exploring meditation techniques derived from the profound ancient Vedic texts and other ancient cultures. Cherie aims to aiming to help individuals discover the meditation practice that resonates most with them.

Her enthusiasm for the neuro-scientific advantages of meditation drives her commitment to assisting individuals in transforming their lives and achieving a state of calm and balance. Cherie is particularly focused on empowering individuals to become self-sufficient meditators, enabling them to cultivate their meditation practices for independent sessions at home.

Cherie engages in meditation twice daily, a practice she has maintained consistently for many years, which has significantly impacted her life. She aspires for others to experience similar benefits. Additionally, she enjoys enhancing her meditation practice through yoga at the Largs Bay Yoga School.
